Top 100 Golf Odyssey E-newsletter Vol. 4

Hello Friends, Welcome to the 4th installment of my golf odyssey newsletter. I hope the summer is treating everyone well and its not too hot where you are. I’m pleased to report that excellent progress is being made on my Top 100 project. Having started last year on June 8th I hit the one year anniversary of my quest about a month ago. On that date I stood at 18 courses completed. I fell just a little short of my goal to play 20 courses in my first year. I completed my 19th and 20th courses just 12 days

Tour Conditions at Congressional

Jay and me at Congressional’s 18th tee. We played one day after Tiger’s event here and the course was set up pretty tough for the pros. I spent all day in the rough which made things difficult and interesting. We had a great dinner in the clubhouse after our game which helped me forget about the debacle on the course.

Congressional Country Club (Blue Course)

After several false starts and weather cancellations I finally made it to Congressional Country Club to play the Blue Course. My boss lives in Bethesda so I asked him if he knew any Congressional members. He put his wife on the task and about 2 hours later I received an email from a member who graciously offered to host me. We ended up emailing for nearly 8 months before we were able to work out a day that fit both of our schedules and wasn’t raining or oppressively hot.
