Wow, what can I say? Another great Masters this year! Here are a few of my favorite moments.
Fred Couples looked like he might turn back the clock 20 years after 36 holes. He didn’t quite have enough gas in the tank but it was fun to wake up Saturday morning thinking he might pull off a dark horse victory.

Like many others I thought this could be Rory’s year. He got off to a good start going into the weekend at -4, but was derailed by a +5 round on Saturday as he played alongside Sergio Garcia who struggled his way around the course to finish +3. I loved the ironic hug these two shared on the 12th green on Saturday after they both made their first birdie of the day. If you didn’t see it, check out the video clip below. Pretty hilarious.
Of course the big news early in the day on the Easter Sunday final round was Louis Oosthasen’s double eagle at the 2nd hole. What an unreal shot! There have only been 4 double eagles recorded in Masters history with Gene Sarazen’s at the 15th hole being the most famous. Congrats Oosty, that was one heck of a shot!

Here is Oosty tossing the ball to a patron. News outlets have reported that the patron gladly donated the ball to the Augusta National Golf Club’s archives. I’m glad that one didn’t get away!

If you had asked me who I liked at the start of Sunday I would have absolutely said Phil. Sadly, the train wreck triple bogey at the 4th hole was disastrous for him. Phil loves Sunday at Augusta and it must have been hard for him to see the green jacket slip through his fingers. He did his best to catch back up to the other guys, but he just couldn’t pull it off.

I loved the blow for blow match play that Bubba Watson and Louis Oosthuizen put on coming down the stretch. There were numerous putts that could put one in front of the other, but in the end the guy who has never had a golf lesson in his life prevailed with a 155 yard gap wedge that he hooked 40 yards onto the green. How he pulled that shot off under that type of pressure is a mystery to me. Truly unbelievable. Congratulations Bubba, you earned the win! What a tournament and what a golf course!
