Tiger, Tiger Woods Y’all!!!!!

Posted on December 4th, 2011

Well, he finally did it. Tiger Woods went more than 2 years without a win and today he defeated Zach Johnson at the 2011 Chevron World Challenge. A dramatic birdie, birdie from Tiger to finish on 17 and 18 was the dagger that did Zach Johnson in.

Love him or hate him, its tough to argue that he’s a thrill to watch when he’s playing his best.

Top 100 Golf Odyssey E-Newsletter Vol. 13

Posted on October 13th, 2011

Well, the Fall is here and the 2011 golf season is winding down to an end. Its been a great year for the Top 100 Golf Odyssey with visits to 14 new Top 100 courses, a couple of return visits to some favorites and a whole bunch of local golf thrown in for good measure. The year started up early with the trip to Florida back in February so I’ve packed it in a little prematurely and am taking the Fall off from golf travel for the most part. As far as my progress goes I played Fisher’s Island

A Rookie Wins!

Posted on August 15th, 2011

Congratulations to Keegan Bradley who was triumphant in his first ever appearance in a major championship. Bouncing back from his triple on 15 shows incredible resilience and his birdie putt on 17 is the stuff that major champions are made of. Keegan played incredible and it was great fun to watch him get into play off position. As an American I have to also say that its great to see an American finally win a major again. Hopefully all these young guys will start to step up and challenge the great European players that have been dominating the majors

Darren Clarke Rises To The Top

Posted on July 20th, 2011

Congratulations to Darren Clarke for his Open Championship win at Royal St. George’s this past weekend. I was out of town so unfortunately I didn’t get to see any of the tournament. From what I picked up here and there it sounds like he played well and deserved the win. I don’t follow a lot of pro golf, so I wasn’t real familiar with Clarke’s personal story. Having lost his wife to cancer 5 years ago I think it’s pretty safe to say that a good portion of the golfing world was rooting for him bring the jug home.

Top 100 Golf Odyssey E-Newsletter Vol. 12

Posted on July 19th, 2011

Hello to Everyone! I hope you all are having a great summer. I usually try to post these “state of the quest” updates at the end of each quarter but I’m a little late this time. It’s been a pretty busy year so far and I regret to report that I am way behind on my website. I’ve played 6 courses on the Top 100 list that I have not posted yet and will hopefully have up soon. There are also another half dozen courses not on the list that I have played and intend to post about when

Way to Go Rory!!!

Posted on June 20th, 2011

Wow, what an amazing week for Rory McIlroy at the U.S. Open. I was rooting for him before he put the first ball in the air after his meltdown in Georgia earlier this year. He really pulled through and closed this one out strong. Congrats Rory, it was fun to see you play so well . . . and so FAST I might add. It’s nice to see a young guy not playing at the speed of a glacier! Other stories from the U.S. Open that I thought were interesting: Jason Day is indeed the real thing. Could Rory/Jason

Congratulations to Charl Schwartzel!!!!

Posted on April 10th, 2011

Congratulations to Charl Schwartzel! That was one heck of finish with birdies on the last four holes coming in. It was great to see a Masters Tournament with so many guys in the hunt on Sunday. Throughout the day there were about 10 guys that all looked to have a legitimate chance to claim the title. In the end, the guy who birdied the last four holes was the guy with the green jacket. Great playing and congratulations Charl. The heartbreak of the day was obviously watching Rory McIlroy make his way around the second nine in 43 strokes.

Hello Friends and Fellow Golfers! Welcome to the latest update in my Golf Odyssey Newsletter. The first quarter of 2011 has been a little slow for my Top 100 Golf Odyssey as there are not very many locations represented on the list to travel to during the winter. I did manage to make a trip to southern Florida where I played Calusa Pines and Seminole Golf Club. My post about Calusa Pines went up today and Seminole will follow very soon. While in the area I also was able to get in a game at Indian Creek Country Club

Top 100 Golf Odyssey E-Newsletter Vol. 10

Posted on December 7th, 2010

Happy Holidays Friends, Family and Golf Enthusiasts, This is my year end wrap up newsletter and I’m happy to report that 2010 has been a stellar year for the Top 100 Golf Odyssey. As it stands right now I have played 62 of the Top 100 courses, so I guess you could say I’m on the back stretch. Over the course of 2010 I played 18 more list courses as well as a half a dozen other architecturally or historically significant courses across the country – some for the first time and some were repeat visits. During 2010 I

Please Help with a Golf Survey

Posted on November 9th, 2010

I’m helping a friend who has created a golf related survey as part of an MBA project he is working on. He needs to get several thousand responses so I’m trying to help him drum up some traffic for the survey. If you have a few moments and don’t mind filling it out he would certainly appreciate your help. Also please feel free to forward the link on to any golfers you know who might be interested or willing to respond. It takes about 5-8 minutes to complete it. The link is below and you can click it or
